Live and Work in the Same Community
Beginning in 1964 with Robert E. Simon’s vision, this region was built on foundational principals that everyone was welcome and could live, work, play, and thrive.
For Five Decades
Cornerstones has championed Bob’s vision and served as one of Northern Virginia’s leading community catalyst for upending the root causes of homelessness, poverty, and inequity – barriers to success that affect us all. Even in an economically thriving Dulles Corridor, lack of affordable housing causes a domino effect on our most vulnerable neighbors. Too many hard-working low to moderate-income people who have suffered a major health crisis lost a job, or struggle to live paycheck-to-paycheck are caught up in crushing cycles of homelessness and poverty.
Now in our 50th year of service to the community, Cornerstones is resolved to dramatically shift the punishing impact that homelessness and generational poverty have on our community.
Ensuring Strong and Stable Families
Cornerstones’ $500,000 Strong and Stable Families Fund is an ambitious undertaking, but a vitally important endeavor during our 50th Anniversary year. More than X of households, with upwards of X of children, reach out to Cornerstones in fear of becoming homeless. The Fund will enable us to dramatically increase our capacity to help families and individuals in crisis before they become homeless and are forced to move into our emergency shelter.
With your generous support, households in dire straits can take advantage of our foreclosure and eviction prevention and home preservation programs, maintain the affordability, security, and safety of staying in their home, and acquire valuable resources to ensure their long-term stability.
By pledging an additional donation to Cornerstones Strong and Stable Families Fund, you are making a prominent commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in our region. Your extra gift ensures the economic and equitable vitality of our community and everyone who calls Northern Virginia home.
