Cornerstones Housing Counseling Program
The Housing Counseling Program can help you make informed housing decisions, prevent housing crises, and ensure fair housing practices. Cornerstones is a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency, and all services are provided by a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor.
HUD-approved housing counseling agencies are private and public nonprofit organizations that are exempt from taxation under section 501(a) and approved by HUD, in accordance with this part and 106(e) of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, to provide housing counseling services to clients directly, or through their affiliates or branches, and which meet the requirements set forth in 24 CFR part 214.
A HUD-certified housing counselor is a housing counselor who has passed the HUD Certification examination, works for a participating agency, and is certified by HUD as competent to provide housing counseling services.
