A Grateful Parent Says Thanks
I want to say thank you to Laurel Learning Center, Cornerstones and Cornerstones donors for awarding our family two months of tuition assistance. This past year has been extremely challenging due to difficult medical issues. As a single parent and teacher, I honestly don’t know how I would have been able to keep my child in daycare without the assistance. You all have been a godsend in not only taking wonderful care of my daughter, but by helping to reduce my stress level that I would have had had you all not helped me out with the cost of daycare-which I think has greatly helped in my recoveries. I normally pride myself on my ability to “do what it takes by all means” to provide for my daughter and not borrow or rely on others to pay my financial obligations. I honestly cannot thank you all enough for what you have done for us. I sincerely appreciate EVERYTHING you all have done for our family. Please let me know of anything I can do to help. – A LLC Parent
A Successful Graduate
Fred came in to the Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center (HNRC) 2 1/2 years ago to ask our help with fine tuning his homework and research projects. At that time he was working two jobs and attending night school in pursuit of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Recently he came in to share with HNRC staff that he has completed his course work and has received his degree. He was part of the commencement ceremony at Strayer University on Saturday, December 1, 2012. We at Cornerstones are very proud of him and equally as emotional about how he worked so hard, overcame many obstacles and prevailed. The fact that Fred shared his greatest achievement with us is both heartwarming and humbling. He said many thanks to us and stated he was very blessed to have come through these doors. – A Cornerstones Staff Member
